MARNELL MAGIC
Here’s some good news out of Las Vegas, for a change.
The Marnell Magic appears to have passed from father to son.
In a town where casinos are fighting desperately for customers, even the newest of them, the spanking new M Resort is reported to be jammed.
Bearing that out is the report by the Las Vegas Sun that M is hiring 250 employees just days after its Sunday opening. In addition, M will add slot machines.
The property is twice as busy as expected. The number of people signing up for its slot club has already reached 20,000. Its full-month goal was 25,000.
The property was developed by Anthony Marnell III, son of architect-contractor Tony Marnell who built the Rio, the hottest property in LV when he developed it.
Apparently, there’s still a market out there for a property that the public considers a mustsee.
Of course, at 390 rooms and 1,800 slots, M can fill up with a lot fewer people than those cavernous 3,000-plus room mega resorts.Visit www.themresort.com for more information.
