Senior Interior Designer

responsibilities
  • Attend initial client Development meetings with the VP of Design and Senior Project Designer. Note general information required to establish type, expectations, and scope or work for interior finishes and furnishings for the intended Project.
  • Develop, write, and coordinate Interior Design specifications and finishes with Senior Project Designer.
  • Make color and material selections for Interior Design projects.
  • Issue Project Interior specifications and revisions to proper personnel as outlined by the Senior Project Designer.
  • Specify and if necessary, purchase art and artifacts as required by the Project. Coordinate purchases with the Finance Department to ensure proper billing.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing Agent to assure timely purchases, shipment, and installation of all Project specifications. Coordinate with Purchasing Agents to reselect items that may not be available as specified.
  • Approve all finish samples and fabric cutting samples received by either Interior Design or Purchasing.
  • Directly supervise the installation of art and artifacts onsite by coordinating with the Senior Project Designer and General Contractor’s Project Manager.
  • Assist with the Interior Design punch list as directed by the Senior Project Designer.

job requirements
  • Must have a working knowledge of CAD programs.
  • Must be adept at multi-tasking, have exceptional organizational skills and a highly developed sense of design.
  • Must excel in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledgeable of code/regulatory compliances related to Interior Design.
  • Strong background and knowledge in the writing and reviewing of design specifications.
  • Elevated level of current Design and Fashion trends.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Commercial Interior Design, preferably with extensive experience in Casino and Hospitality Design.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, vendors, and employees within the company.
  • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, handling sensitive information concerning both the company and its clients.
  • Professional degree in Interior Design and/or Interior Architecture from an accredited University.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
